About the role

We are seeking a dynamic junior-to-mid level Food & Beverage Manager to oversee the dining operations at our Aparthotel. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of leading a food and beverage team. This role requires a hands-on approach to ensure the highest standards of service, quality, and guest satisfaction.

  • In-depth knowledge of food and beverage operations, including menu planning, cost control, and health regulations.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities effectively.
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
  • A bachelor's degree or certification in hospitality management or a related field is preferred.

Your roles and responsibilities:

1. Leadership and Management:

    • Provide leadership and direction to the kitchen and bar staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
    • Set clear expectations and performance goals for the team, and ensure they are met consistently.
    • Conduct regular training sessions to enhance staff skills and knowledge.
    • Effectively manage staffing levels, schedules, and payroll to optimise operational efficiency.

    2. Menu Planning and Execution:

    • Collaborate with the chefs and management to develop innovative and appealing breakfast, lunch and dinner menus that cater to the preferences of our guests.
    • Ensure that all dishes are prepared and presented according to the highest culinary standards.
    • Monitor food costs and inventory levels, and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.

    3. Guest Experience

    • Maintain a strong focus on guest satisfaction by interacting with guests, addressing feedback, and resolving any issues promptly and professionally.
    • Implement strategies to enhance the dining experience, such as special promotions, themed events, and menu enhancements.
    • Monitor online reviews and ratings, and take proactive steps to maintain positive sentiment.

    4. Health and Safety Compliance

    • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including food handling procedures and cleanliness standards.
    • Conduct regular inspections of the kitchen and dining areas to identify and address any potential hazards or violations.
    • Implement corrective actions and training programs as needed to maintain a safe and hygienic environment.

    5. Budgeting and Financial Management

    • Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts for the food and beverage department.
    • Monitor revenue and expenses closely, and take proactive measures to control costs and maximise profitability.
    • Identify opportunities for revenue growth and operational efficiency improvements.
